 April 14, 1912. On this fateful night, the world’s most famous ship, the RMS Titanic, faced a disaster that no one ever expected. Known as the "unsinkable" ship, its tragic end in the icy North Atlantic remains one of the most haunting stories in history.

​1. The Terrifying Collision

​At exactly 11:40 PM, while most passengers were resting, the lookouts spotted a massive iceberg directly ahead. The crew tried desperately to turn the ship, but it was moving too fast. The iceberg scraped the side of the hull, creating holes that allowed freezing water to pour inside.

2. Why Did the Disaster Happen?

• ​Ignored Warnings: Throughout the day, the Titanic received 7 wireless warnings about ice in the area, but the crew did not take them seriously.
• ​Overconfidence: Everyone believed the ship was too strong to sink. Because of this pride, they kept the ship at high speed despite the danger.
• ​Lack of Lifeboats: There were 2,200 people on board, but not enough lifeboats for everyone. The owners thought they would never be needed.

3. The Tragic End

​About two hours and forty minutes after the hit, the Titanic broke into two pieces and disappeared under the ocean. Around 1,500 people lost their lives that night. It was a dark day that showed the limits of human technology against nature.
